NCW students experienced an interactive music workshop with talented chamber group, Classic Rhythm.

Classic Rhythm is a successful trio for flute, piano and percussion, which has played to sell-out audiences all over the UK as well as broadcasting on Classic FM and being featured on BBC2.

The group visited NCW to provide an afternoon of interactive music, playing a number of different pieces to compliment students’ recent studies of period music genres. This included Baroque, Classical and Romantic and featured instruments such as the piccolo, xylophone and glockenspiel.

Students had the opportunity to guess which instruments were played and what they were made out of, as well as get up to have a go themselves!

Mrs Christie, Head of Music, praised: “This was a brilliant workshop for the students. They got up and played the percussion, answered and asked great questions and all took part in a group performance. Thank you Classic Rhythm”
