NCW students were honoured to have been invited to participate in the Lord Mayor’s Show in London on Saturday 10 November.

Students and staff members met at the crack of dawn on Saturday to set off on their travels down to London, catching the train to Paddington and experiencing the bustling Underground to St Pauls.

The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers have supported NCW for a number of years, and generously enable us to take part in the annual Lord Mayor’s Show – the day in which the new Lord Mayor of London is officially sworn in.

Students Tom, Rico, Carys, Daniel, Ciara and Amber were all delighted at being involved in such a poignant event, and did a brilliant job walking the 2.5 miles procession through Westminster along with horse drawn carriages, bands, military and other supporters.

Principal of NCW, Nic Ross, congratulated: “It was a huge honour to be invited and involved. Well done to all of those that attended, and for representing NCW amazingly!”

As part of our support from The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers, our Head Boy and Head Girl have also been invited to attend a grand dinner in the New Year – we look forward to hearing all about that!
