News > Happy Christmas!

It’s been Jingle All the Way this week as we head towards the festive season at NCW.

Monday was Christmas jumper day and staff and students all dressed festively and made a contribution to Save the Children for the privilege! The fun started early with Christmas Assembly with singing and music, a Christmas reading from Amber and we said a sad goodbye to three of our volunteers from overseas who have been with us for many months. It was an emotional goodbye – thank you to Howard, Holly and Matt for all your hard work and we wish you all the very best for the future.

After assembly, there was a range of physical activities to choose from, to get some exercise. New age Kurling, Boccia and rowing challenges in the gym were followed by the traditional staff vs. students football matches. The women’s staff team beat the students, but for the first time for many years, the boys thrashed the male staff with an incredible 7-3 victory!

The whole College congregated for a traditional Christmas lunch in the dining room – turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding.

On Tuesday the exceptional talent and commitment of NCW was on show for the Christmas Concert, where an audience of parents, staff, governors and students enjoyed traditional carols and performances from musicians and the choir.

What a wonderful time of year to celebrate the wonderful people who make up our community. Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year from everyone at NCW.
