Well done to students who organised a variety of activities in aid of Children in Need!

The week was kicked off with the annual Great NCW Bake-off, in which we received some impressive entries! After much deliberation, tasting and checking for soggy bottoms, it was concluded that Fizzy with her Lemon Roulade and Miss Smith with her Pudsey Tray bake won the competition!

The remainder of the cakes, tarts and bakes were sold during break times to the rest of the college.

Next, and possibly the highlight for many students, was Sponge Throwing on a very damp and miserable day! Students and staff paid £1 for 3 attempts at hitting the unfortunate victims – Mrs Bufton, Mrs Price and Mr Hinds. However, it seemed the majority had it in for Mrs Bufton, who ended up with the bucket over her head!

On Thursday was a very sour Lemon Eating competition, in which students had 30 seconds to eat as many lemon slices as they could – even the rind!

Well done to Stuart, who won by managing 3 slices!

To end the week on a high, students organised a charity cricket match playing against the Worcestershire Elizabethans (and some members of staff in sim specs!). All involved gave a great effort, and showed teamwork and communication skills.

The Elizabethans won, but we all had a brilliant time and new cricket kit looks fantastic.

The cricket match raised around £80 alone with the selling of cakes and drinks!

Other smaller activities running throughout the week included a Name the Bear competition and Guess the Sweets in the Jar.

Now that the cakes have been eaten, our sponged teachers have dried out and the money has been counted, we are very proud to have raised a fantastic £359.95 this year.

Well done and thank you to everyone that helped towards raising money!
