‘The Archers’ Star Performs at NCW
‘The Archers’ star and veteran actor Robert Lister, gave an exclusive performance of his one man show ‘The Kindness of Strangers’ at the College this week.
Robert, who plays Lewis Carmichael in ‘The Archers’, performed a dramatic monologue for drama students at the college, which recently finished a successful run at the Stratford Upon Avon Fringe.
Drama students at NCW regularly attend a variety of theatre productions throughout the year as part of their GCSE and A-level courses. Many theatres offer ‘touch tours’ and audio description for the students, although not all productions are equally as accessible to a visually impaired audience.
Head of Drama Lucy Rix explained, “Finding productions that our students can access easily is a real bonus that students and actors find equally beneficial. Having Robert in to perform exclusively in our own drama studio is a real honour, as students will be able to familiarise themselves with the set before the performance and talk to Robert directly about theatre and gain a real insight into the theatrical industry.”
Robert added "I am delighted to be performing at New College Worcester. I have presented "The Kindness of Strangers" to various student groups as well as adults in a range of venues, and I believe it is a very accessible piece, relying mainly on the power of the words.”
