Surgery
Our aim is to give a high standard of health care to all our students, in a wholly professional and caring manner. Working closely with the care staff, we are here to not only look after our students when they are unwell, but to educate students in how to maintain good health and to listen whenever they have any health concerns.
Students have access to a number of health care services, including our college nurse, doctor, physiotherapist, dentist, as well as hospital and local authority services.
The surgery is open 8.15am to 5pm each day Monday to Friday during term time and is staffed by our full time nurse. Our college doctor, holds a surgery at the college weekly and students also have access to physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions with our college Physiotherapist. The school dentist sees the students both at school and at his surgery should treatment be required.
Immunisation sessions are carried out by the School Health Service and a preventative Flu-vac session is carried out by the GP services in the autumn of each year.
The local health authority services include speech therapy, occupational therapy and sexual health.
