Sixth Form
Providing pathways for the future
As you move into the Sixth Form at New College Worcester you will experience many changes, whether you are new to the school or moving up from Year 11. However, there are many people to help you in this transition and to support you, not only as you progress through your chosen courses but also as you develop the skills and confidence to prepare you for your education and career beyond the Sixth Form.
Indeed, one of the most important changes accompanying your move to the Sixth Form is the need for you to take more responsibility for your own study and daily living. Although there are staff who are available and willing to help you, it is part of your developing independence that you take responsibility for yourself and your progress and ask for help, whenever you are uncertain or need assistance with study or living skills.
Life in the sixth form is always full and eventful. As you learn to live independently, a whole new world of exciting choices opens up to you. The opportunities are not only numerous but also extremely varied and there is something for everyone whether it's sports, music, activities, you name it! Living in a large group means there is a constant supply of people to go out with. There is a real camaraderie here and the close friendships that everyone builds up over time create a fantastic relaxed atmosphere where confidence, fun and achievement can grow and blossom.
"The most important thing I’ve taken away is confidence - to go into the ‘real’ world and do what I really want to do." Former student
