SENSORY IMPAIRENT: Horizons, Innovation & Impact - 15th October

Arlington Arts Centre, Mary Hare, Newbury

This conference will be examining a range of subjects that impact on the lives of children and young people with sensory impairment. The event brings together Mary Hare’s work for profoundly deaf young people with that of New College Worcester for blind and partially sighted young people.

The event will explore a number of themes during the day:

What impact does sensory impairment (i.e. hearing impairment and/or visual impairment) have on children and young people?

How can the needs of these children be appropriately assessed?

What are the frontiers of sensory research ?

What technological innovations are on the on the horizon and what is their potential for children with sensory impairment?

How are these issues best addressed for children who are deafblind?

The daily delegate rate, including lunch and refreshments is £125. Exhibition space is available at £200 (corporate rate) £100 (registered charity rate)
