Producing Learning Resources
Tuesday 15th February and Monday 14th March 2011
This two day seminar will focus on the production and use of learning resources for visually impaired students.
The first day will look at good practice for the production of Large Print and Braille resources at primary and secondary level. It will consider the principles and practice of how to modify both text and diagrams so that they become accessible to students. The sessions will cover:
-Understanding how visual impairment affects access to educational resources
-Production of high quality Large Print resources
-Production of high quality Braille resources
-Using IT to enhance resources
The second day will be an opportunity to see these resources in use in lessons and to focus on particular curriculum areas of interest e.g. science, PE and Maths etc. If you have attended the first day, you may bring a colleague for free to this second day.

Teachers/Learning support assistants working with students in mainstream schools, adapting learning resources for students with a visual impairment.
