Olympic Opportunity
As part of the build up to the 2012 Paralympics, a group of staff and students were invited to watch the ‘London Prepares Series’ for Goalball at the Olympic park in London, as part of the Gold Challenge organised by the British Olympic Association.
They enjoyed VIP treatment with golf buggy rides through the Olympic Park and watched the games from the best seats in the stadium! The group watched a series of international games between countries such as Canada, Sweden, China and USA.
They cheered on the GB team, which included some ex-NCW students, who played very well losing 1-0 to China.
The final between China and USA was very exciting, with some amazing Goalball skills. China showed superior agility, listening skills and powerful throws, which gave them an easy win.
The group had an exciting and inspiring day and are now looking forward to following the Goalball series in 2012.
