New Year Ski Trip
On New Years day, a large group of staff and students left the College to embark on a long coach journey to Puy Saint Vincent in the French Alps. Twenty-two hours and a rough ferry crossing later we arrived at our destination.
The weather was mostly very kind to us with a mixture of fresh snow, lots of fantastic sunshine and clear blue skies. We had a large group of beginners on this trip, many of whom quickly progressed from the nursery slopes at Pelvoux to the steeper slopes above the hotel. The students quickly found out how tiring ski-ing can be and everyone appreciated the midweek half day break, where we went on a trip to Briancon, the local town. Many of the students worked hard to improve their ski-ing throughout the week and all the guides worked hard to help them to do so.
Overall, the week went amazingly well and all of the students and staff really seemed to enjoy the trip. It was a great cultural experience as well as a great ski-ing experience, with the food at the hotel being as wonderful as ever. Huge thanks go to the Primary Club and VICTA for supporting the trip financially and to all the wonderful guides, without whom, the trip would not be possible.
