A visit to the Dutch Resistance Museum, thorough testing of pancakes and waffles, regular ferry and tram rides, LOTS of walking, a canal cruise, and perhaps most memorably a visit to Anne Frank’s house could only mean one thing… the NCW Travel Club has taken to the skies once again.

Last week NCW Goalballers have had the benefit of an afternoon of top coaching from the Great Britain Men’s Goalball Team Coach Faye Dale.

This week NCW Year 7 students went along to a Key Stage 3 sports competition at Tudor Grange Academy, where they competed against other schools from the local area; Christopher Whitehead’s Language College, Regency High School, Tudor Grange Academy and Droitwich High School.

As a grand finale to the NCW 150th Anniversary Celebrations, the Principal, Trustee Governors and Staff of New College Worcester are delighted to invite guests to join them at a Special 150th Anniversary Celebratory Christmas Concert.

Last weekend saw a fantastic weekend for New College Worcester Goalball, with NCW turning out two teams for the Novice match on Saturday and training with Goalball UK on Sunday.

Five students headed off recently with the Activities Team to the British Disability Water-ski and Wakeboard Association Regional Centre at Heron Lake in Middlesex to try their hand at some water sports.

The first Goalball Tournament of the term resulted in silver medals for the Intermediate team, comprising Naqib, Ali and David. Playing at the new Goalball Centre at Birmingham the team played fantastically.

Didn’t we have a lovely time….The day we went to Porthcawl? July 13th was the date for our annual Key Stage 3 Beach Trip (or Humanities Trip, as Dr. Erry likes to call it). Having anxiously watched the weather forecast for weeks beforehand we climbed on the coach ready for anything, equipped with everything from buckets of sun cream to jumpers and waterproofs.

This term saw the election of a new Senior Student Team, with students Sarah and Matthew taking their positions heading up the team.

When Reanna received her art A level final assessment paper she chose the subject of 'Conversation Piece'. For Reanna conversation happens around a cup of tea and so she decided to make a series of ceramic teapots. The challenge was how to make the teapots themselves a conversation piece. She decided to focus on the main political conversation at present – The EU Referendum.

On Friday 20th May HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO visited New College Worcester, spending time meeting staff and students, enjoying a performance from the NCW choir and even trying her hand at Goalball.

Year 9 left their electronic devices behind as they set off to North Wales to face their fears and have some fun at Camp. The group set off for Aberdyfi for 4 days of adventure, staying in an outdoor education centre within the Snowdonia National Park, where the River Dyfi meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. The purpose of the camp was to develop teamwork, cooperation and communication skills – as well as take on some physical and mental challenges. Outdoor education instructors from the centre led the activities with support from the NCW staff.

Great Britain Men’s Goalball UK Coach, Faye Dale, spent the day in Worcester at the beginning of May for a training day with NCW Goalball players, hosted at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre and working on new skills and how to apply them in a match situation.
