It was hot, hot, hot on Saturday 17th June as staff, students, volunteers, guests and four-legged friends rendezvoused at Bewdley Severn Valley Railway Station for the inaugural Walk, Rest & Rail fundraising walk.

Year 7 Adventures

Before half term, Year 7 headed off on camp for an exciting few days of activity and adventure.

Blessed with fantastic weather, the group set off for Blackmore campsite, a beautiful, peaceful site in rural Worcestershire, close to the village of Hanley Swan and with views of the Malvern Hills. This was to be their base for the next few days.

NCW Year 13 student Naqib was selected as one of the best youth Goalball players in the country to travel to Odense in Denmark to play as part of a UK Talent Team.

Year 9 Residential

The Year 9s had a fantastic time on their Residential recently in the Lake District. The group stayed at The Lake District Calvert Trust, a residential outdoor centre on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The weather was fine, albeit rather breezy, and everyone without exception, threw themselves into the adventure.

New College Worcester Year 7 have been busy compiling a news report for BBC News School Report, which is really exciting as it is the first time for a while that NCW has been involved in this high profile project.

BBC News School Report gives 11-16 year-old students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience.

Nell Gwynn Trip

On Wednesday 15th March, the Year 11 and AS Drama students went to Malvern Theatre to watch ‘Nell Gwynn’ performed by the English Touring Theatre. Before the show, we were lucky enough to have a touch tour of the set and meet the actors. The performance was also audio described making it more accessible and enjoyable for the students.

Creative with Clay!

Students had a creative day with clay when ceramicist Jon Barrett-Danes came to spend a day in the Art Studio. Jon creates individually made ceramic animal-based sculptures, which are full of character and humour.
