Great NCW Bake Off

Staff and students at New College Worcester for children and young people who are blind or partially sighted, have been baking cakes to raise money for Children in Need. As part of their fundraising week all students and staff were invited to take part in a Great NCW Bake Off competition and the entries were judged by Mrs Nathalie Bufton, Head of Independent Living Skills department, and Mr Robin Walker MP.

NCW in Berlin

The NCW Travel Club took to the skies again in October as a group of staff and students departed for the beautiful tree-filled city of Berlin. Ten students and six staff were determined to explore the history of this extraordinary city and experience present day Berlin for themselves.

Rising to the Challenge in Outcomes Week!

The whole College took part in a series of challenges this week to help build confidence and resilience. Following workshops on team-building and resilience on Sunday and Monday, everyone split into groups on Tuesday and travelled to Worcester city centre to visit shops, businesses and information centres to collate their own tourist information guide. The challenges were designed to place the students outside their comfort zone, to experience real life difficulties and potential disappointments and to develop coping strategies in order to prepare for life beyond education in the real world.

Sports Festival Fun

Year 7 students took part in an Inclusive Sports Festival at the University Arena, playing wheelchair basketball, tri-golf, blind football, goalball, boccia, new age curling and seated volleyball.
