Music Clubs
Music is an essential element in the life of the school. Every student at New College Worcester is given the opportunity to have free instrumental tuition. There is a wide variety of instruments offered including piano, drums, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, cello, guitar and many more.
Lessons are taught by a team of experienced visiting teachers who tailor resources to the student's needs – these include music braille, large print music and individually prepared sound files or audio tapes.
Within our thriving department there are lots of opportunities for music making. Groups and ensembles at the college include a four part choir, recorder group, instrumental ensemble, folk group, samba group and various student-led bands. The choir has been successful in competitions and has performed major works with local orchestras. There are many formal and informal occasions which give students opportunities to perform, both in school and in the local community.
