Fundraising Summer Update!
Posted 5th September 2017 | Category: Fundraising
The Fundraising Department has been very busy over the summer holidays!
On August 9th John Hooper, Chairman of Unidoc Solutions Ltd of Halesowen, presented us with a wonderful donation of £3,240 towards equipment for the new Multi Gym which is due to be completed and handed over to us on Friday 8th September. Our Head of Fundraising said ‘John has visited NCW on a couple of occasions over the past few months and has taken a great deal of interest in the work we do. Unidoc's very kind donation will purchase two pieces of new fitness equipment and will help to ensure the new multi gym is fully equipped and ready to be used by our students before the end of September.
Gary Hateley, Sales Director of Alderman Ceramics, based in Kidderminster, successfully completed his 120km challenge on Sunday August 20th. Starting at 4.30am, Gary ran, cycled, rowed and used the cross trainer to reach his target in 8 hours. In the process he raised £1550, which will go towards fitness equipment for the new Multi Gym.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our first Walk, Rest & Rail event on June 17th. To date the event has raised £2.9k with a further £1k pledged via matched funding. Details of next year’s event will be announced shortly.
Our very successful visiting artist programme will continue for the next three years thanks to the continued support of the Bransford Trust. Colin Kinnear, a trustee of the Trust together with his wife, recently visited the College to see first hand the quality of work produced by our students and the impact this exciting project has had within the Art department.
With the help of our Patron, Lord Faulkner of Worcester, we have been able to secure a grant of £10k from The Foundation for Sport and the Arts, which has enabled us to reach our initial fundraising target so we can place an order to equip the new Multi Gym.
Thanks go to all who have contributed to our fundraising efforts over the last few months.

Multigym and Sixth Form Bathroom Project
Posted 1st March 2017 | Category: Fundraising
It's full steam ahead with one of the largest fundraising projects NCW has seen for many years!
The old stables situated in the middle of the campus are going to be converted and extended to form a state-of-the-art contemporary Gym and Fitness Centre. The current gym, which former students will remember has been at the end of the Sports Hall for many years, is simply not fit for purpose with students needing more space, better equipment and a more pleasant environment in which to train.
With thanks to a very kind gift left to NCW in a Will, we were able to start considering the project, and a further donation from the Clothworkers Association has also sent the project in the right direction. There is still a lot of fundraising work to do though, so Kevin Hateley, the Fundraising Manager is very busy busy drumming up support.
It is hoped that the Fitness Centre will also be able to be used by members of the public, as well as students and staff NCW.
As part of the whole project we are also adding 6 much needed en-suite 'pods' to the side of the Sixth Form Hostel, increasing the number of rooms with en-suite facilities.
Tenders have been received for the work and it is hoped that work will commence at the end of March.
Thank you to Simply Mobile!

Our very grateful thanks go to all at Simply Mobile, for hosting a fabulous Celebrity Golf Day to raise funds for NCW. Some NCW students popped along in the morning to meet some of the players and a wonderful day of golf was followed by a very sociable evening.
