Cameras roll for BBC Children in Need!
BBC cameras joined us for the day to interview staff and students about the the refurbishment of our Independent Living Skills room, funded by BBC Children in Need.
Students were filmed demonstrating their skills in the kitchen and explained how the refurbishments had made a difference to their work in the rooms, as one student explained,
“The different textures and door handles on the cupboard doors make it so much easier to find the things that I need. I really like it!”
The refurbishment of this room has provided our students with various new resources and equipment including, fitted kitchen bays in a variety of different, textures styles and colours, different types of sinks, taps and cookers along with a rise and fall unit for disabled students and specialist acoustic tiles for students who are hearing impaired.
The film was broadcast of part of BBC Children in Need coverage for regional news programme 'Midlands Today'.
