Accommodation

The Sixth Form students are accommodated in 2 separate buildings; Phyllis Monk Hall and Phyllis Monk House, though they are more commonly known as 6th Form Hostel and House respectively.
Our Sixth Form Hostel is arranged like a hall of residence, with bedrooms off a central living room and shared kitchens and bathrooms to make the transition to University easier to manage. The house has accommodation for 12 students in single and double rooms and one 3-bedded room.
Both the Hostel and the House have payphones and a communal laundry room; with washing machines, tumble driers, and ironing facilities. Each unit has a lounge with comfy sofa's and a TV/DVD/Video Player. There is also a large communal common room with stereo and various games, including a pool table.
Sixth Form students are all working towards reaching a level of independence that will allow them to study and live successfully once they leave. Experienced, knowledgeable and qualified staff are available to provide support, advice and encouragement to all. Eventually, students will be expected to cater for themselves in all areas including budgeting, shopping, cooking, washing and ironing, to ensure they are ready to make an effective transition at the end of their time at NCW.
